Fort Lauderdale Auto Show, Events in Miami and South Florida

The Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show opened Thursday, March 21st, showcasing more than 500 cars, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center. The Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show, as its fellow South Florida International Auto Show, is the ideal place for car lovers and potential buyers to check out the latest models from prestigious to popular.

The Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show is smaller that the Miami Beach annual edition. Nonetheless, it still has a lot to offer. The stars of this year event were smart cars and hybrids. As a consequence, this event seems to be the ideal place for South Floridians seeking relief at the gas pump may find a solution in the bevy of fuel efficient. Generally, smart cars get 41 miles per gallon on the highway and 33 in the city and carry base prices from $11,590 to $16,590. One car that make a wave at the event was the new General Motor's 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid.

Other big part of the event in South Florida was, of course, the luxury car and prestige car exhibition. Since automakers haven't been immune to the economic downturn and new and luxury car sales have dropped in recent months, organizers were hoping the event stimulated car sales for local dealers and raised money for Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County, owner of the event.

If you are planning to come to Miami Florida, you can have access to the most luxurious cars in the world by renting one from a luxury rental car of Miami. This way you can see and ride the car of your dream without waiting the next edition of South Florida auto shows.

China Grill Opening in Fort Lauderdale, happenings and events in Miami

Do you want to know what is happening in Miami Florida? If so, here is an interesting tip. After months of anticipation and delay, the new China Grill restaurant was opened this past Friday in Fort Lauderdale. This Miami event took place at the restaurant’s home at the Grande Hotel & Yacht Club overlooking the Intracoastal way on the 17th street Causeway. This new restaurant in Fort Lauderdale is a 493-seat space that includes 12 seat communal table and private room, with an outdoor terrace. China Grill Fort Lauderdale joins sites in South Beach, New York City, Las Vegas and Mexico City. Jeffrey Beers said this China Grill was the most theatrical yet. This restaurant might be an excellent opportunity for boaters who want to enjoy a delicious food after a long day on the open sea. Since every day more and more locals are renting boats or chartering yachts during their vacations to Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and due to the great ambiance the city of Fort Lauderdale has to offer the opening of this restaurant seems just in time.

Where to Party with Miami’s Young Art Elite, Miami events

A new cultural and much more intelligent movement is taking over Miami. At the Wynwood Art District and Miami Design District, there is a party movement that takes place after dark. In this popular areas in Miami, the art scene moves to a new lobby of restaurants and bars with a sophisticated vibe serving Miami’s young art elite. New places include the popular Lost and Found Saloon, a kitschy western-themed restaurant with wagon-wheel chandeliers and cowhide wall hangings. The second Saturday of each month, when the galleries put together their Miami events and receptions, is the time to visit these art districts since is when the young elite takes over. Nevertheless, even on nights when there are not receptions, the nightlife is still lively. Opened in Wynwood in December 2007 Circa 28 is a preferred location to party with an unconventional style. With its abstract paintings hanging on the walls, and young artists sat dreamily under bookshelves, Circa 28 surely provides a very different atmosphere.

Coconut Grove Arts Festival 2008, events in Miami

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival 2008 was a huge success! From paintings and sculptures to photos and hand craft this Miami event had an excellent attendance this year. Held in the city of Coconut Grove each year, the Coconut Grove arts festival is one of the most important art events in Miami, Florida. Each year, hundreds of artist from around the nation gather at this Florida festival to present their work offering beautiful pieces to art lovers and collectors.

This Florida Festival and popular Miami event provides a wide selection of stands with some of the best artists in the country including painting, photos, sculptures, jewelry, and more. Nonetheless, art is not all there is to Coconut Grove Arts Festival; there are also live music presentations, a play area for kids, and a food court with all kinds of food from American and Latin American to Chinese and Greek.

There is something for each member of the family! The play ground for kids was just so fun with several games to choice for. Also, the music played an important role this year providing the ideal ambience. Additionally, to all the food selection was pretty wide; there was something for every body. Miami Boat Show 2008, Miami events

The Miami Boat Show held from February 14-18, 2008 celebrated its 20th anniversary. This annual Miami event celebrated the love story from Floridians to boats of all shapes, sizes colors and budgets. This Miami event is one of the most popular in Miami attracting local visitors, domestic as well as international visitors. This is the perfect time when visitors abandon their often cold environment and spend a few days in Miami under the sun while either shopping or simply visiting this marvelous Miami Boat Show. The Miami boat show is one of the most popular in the world, all major boat manufacturers attend this Miami event to feature their latest models.

This year was not any different in spite of the grim economic environment. Sales of smaller boats are definitely affected by the combination of the economic crisis and the soaring gasoline prices. It seems that only the super luxury yacht section of the market is still flourishing. The event was split in 3 locations the Miami Beach Convention Center, The Miami Marina at Bayside and the Sea Isle Marine Yachting Center (on Collins and the 40's) The event attracted hordes of boat lovers, potential buyers as well as curious visitors. The Miami Boat Show was according to organizers a great success.

Try the Miami Boat Show next year! If you are planning to come to Miami to attend this event in Miami you must not that Miami hotels and Miami Vacation Rentals get packed really fast during those days, so it is highly recommended to plan in advance and do reservation as soon as possible.

Attention Art Lovers! The biggest art event in Miami will arrive to Coconut Grove this weekend. There is going to be everything at this Miami event. Also at this family-oriented event, the little ones will have lots of things to do. Just beware the parking issue is big. I can suggest you to park on the Coconut Grove Metrorail station’s parking and walk from there to the festival in order to avoid heavy traffic. The other option will be to park along the 27th street were several buildings offer their fronts for parking. The parking fees can move from $10 to $20.

I had a great time and I will definitely do it again! Well to tell you the true I didn't participate in the official Miami ING Marathon. Instead, I did the shorter one the day before the Tropical 5K with the slogan Run Miami - Run For The Homeless. It was a nice experience, even when it took me twice the time the first position did. At the end, I was not participating to win I was just doing something good for myself and others. I will totally recommend this event in Miami to anyone who wants to try next year.
